Webinar February 19, 2013 - International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization (IMBCO) - Vicki Penwell from our Philippine MBnet presented a phenomenal patient teaching project that was developed through Mercy in Action. The video/slide show uses the 10 Steps of the IMBCI as the basis with their own photos and descriptions of all their practices as they relate to the 10 Steps in natural birth.  Appropriate developing world care like HIV prevention, malaria and tetanus prevention, emergency care, etc. is taken into consideration.

 'Birth and Death' is a short 3-minute film, appropriate for the whole family to watch, which highlights the tragedy of maternal death around the world. Simple and moving but powerfully argued, the film exposes a scandal which has been going on for far too long; that women around the world are dying needlessly, leaving millions of orphans and grieving families. The film calls for more midwives to end this global disgrace. Mercy In Action has been working faithfully for years to educate midwives and start free birth centers for poor women. Please give a generous donation to our work, so that in 2011 we can found another charity birth center for the poor in the Philippines, consult on new birth centers being started in Africa and other places, and continue to train midwives to meet the global shortage of trained birth attendants. Together, with God's help, we can address this crisis.
